Barb Swoyer, Jake's mom FLU vaccine I'm not on the keto list anymore, but was wondering if you could post something in there for me. It's regarding the flu shot. had the flu shot at 4:30 on Tue. We ended up in the ER at 8:30PM. couldn't walk for almost 4 hours. He had horrible vertigo and literally could not walk. He was spaced out, quiet,lethargic, wouldn't eat, and had an increase in myoclonic seizures/and twitches. He scared the living #$@ out of us. By 9:00PM , he was walking around and eating and talking away! We, as well as the neurologist believe it was a reaction to the flu vaccine (mind you, he DIDN'T have a reaction last year). also had his gabitril 10 minutes after the vaccine which the neurologist said could also have created the reaction. A nurse in the ER said that several colleges from the ER had reactions to the vaccine (headaches, sick in bed) this year when they hadn't before. I have no idea if the flu vaccine or gabitril could be the culprit, but this reaction sounds like our experience with Gabitril. was in a coma-like state with eyes open. The most scared I have ever been on this journey. We rushed to the doc, only because he was closer than the ER. After about an hour he was better & the docs thought it was some type seizure that we've never seen. We had just stepped up his dose on the Gabitril (you know the drill....working our way up to a therapeutic level). The next day he was so lethargic that he couldn't stand. That's when we blamed the gabitril, eliminated it & have never seen that again (Thank the LORD!).
