Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I have been taking medicine for cholesterol for some time now....years actually but I can't remember when I began taking it. At least ten years I guess. Right now I take Zocor but I used to take a med called Baycol. After starting Baycol it wasn't long before I couldn't walk very far before my legs would become very sore. This was strange because I was use to walking my dogs without any consequences like that. Well, I decided I wasn't going to take the drug anymore and it wasn't long after that the drug was pulled from the market because it was found to be unsafe by the FDA. The maker of the drug, I don't remember who made it, had large class action suits against them. Anyway, I thought I felt better after quitting the drug.....I'm not sure. I didn't have my d/x of Lupus at that time though I had been tested for it on and off for several years. Now I take Zocor......I still get sore muscles but I attribute it to Lupus and not the medicine since the sore muscles come and go. As far as your question goes.....is it Lupus or the med......you probably should talk to your doctor.....see what he has to say about it. He could probably do some blood work on you to help clarify what's causing your problem. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hugs... Karol Lipitor Hi!Are any of you on any of the cholesterol medications? I'm on Lipitor and have been wondering if it is causing the pain in my biceps. The doctor took me off of it for 6 weeks to see if it was causing any of my joint pain, but when things didn't improve, he put me back on it. Now I've started to have pains in my biceps for the past few weeks. It makes it hard to do certain things like drive, curl my hair, etc. Anyone have similar problems from past use of such medicine or could it be lupus related?
