This one is as an attachment - excerpt from finetuning techniques thru the

Portland Orgeon keto-diet clinic, so I can't send it on here, copying it to your

direct email addy. But the original is already in the files section under

finetuning techniques. (I think?)

Ideal glucose levels given in here are 55-65 (3.0 - 3.6 NZ/UK values),

acceptable levels of 50-75 (2.8 - 4.2). I believe that the dietician there

prefers parents to monitor blood glucose even more regularly than ketones, this

is how she believes she has managed to obtain such succesful rates of seizure

control in the children put though their clinic.

Neurology Clinic of Portland, Oregon, Home of the

Ketogenic Therapy Clinic.

TROUBLE SHOOTING KEY

#1 Check blood glucose level.

Ideal for majority: 55 - 65 mg/dl

Acceptable glucose: 50 - 75 mg/dl

****MEGAN'S NOTE****

Our dietician, says that a major essential of the diet

is the blood glucose levels in the 55 - 65 range, and

that she has found with hundreds of children that the

seizure control is obtained in that range, with the

ketones in the 80 mg/dl level
