Guest guest Posted August 25, 2004 Report Share Posted August 25, 2004 That is what I would look at too - legarthy etc would warrant glucose testing, but since there is a possible problem with fats, it may also be the other end of the spectrum - like poss not all the cals you are giving him, ie - fat - being metabolised properly, so he might be running out cal wise overall. Re needing to adjust cals, didn't you change them fairly recently after checking his growth etc? I don't have my book with me at the mo for cals per kg etc, but what has he done weight/height wise over the past weeks? Any height growth without concurrent weight gain? If there has been, this would in effect be a type of weight loss in a child, and would indicate that yes, cals might need bumping a bit. > > > OK - another question here.
