Isaac's mum here again,

I'm interested in the response to the splenda sweetner. It sounds

as though 'most' people have a poor response to it -- anyone using

it successfully? I'm pretty sure I've read here in the past that

Aspertame is to be avoided which is the sweetner in Crystal Lite and

soft drinks. I haven't found any other drink alternatives here in

Canada. I've seen reference to Keto products on the site but we

don't have anything like that. What about Sugar Twin? Anyone know

what the sweetner in that is and is there any way to create a

palatable drink with that? Isaac still has (minor) daily seizures

and I never know if they are related to something we are doing so I

want to keep the diet as pure as possible. Prior to the drink thing

I used nothing other than the pure foods. However the dehydration

is obviously not acceptable and I can't 'make' him drink. Any

thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

Kathleen,

Stella's mom here, we use a lot of really weak herbal teas ie. chamomile,

mint etc... Also the crystal geyser drinks are bubbly and flavored with

essence, so no sweetner, they are light and refreshing. We'll make

popsicles with lemon, lime extract and a drop of stevia, she loves those. If

she's not wanting to eat much i'll make a cream pop out of it too.

The diet hansens drinks have splenda in them so we avoid those, but they are

carb free too. Also, the smart drinks(not the vitamin drinks) are flavored

with essences too, so they are carb free. interesting flavors too, like

cucumber and lemon, berry, there's another one too which is light. Also,

talking rain is another alternative.

There is a link on this site somewhere telling you the carb content of the

herbal teas from celestial springs, that may help you out too. Stella has a

tea everymorning with devonshire clotted cream which she just loves. The

british cream is triple cream, so a little used up lots of fat.
