We used cotton balls, too, but have a boy and maybe it was easier? You can use

the larger cotton pieces that you might find in the cosmetics dept used to

remove makeup, etc, as long as they are all cotton. There have been times I was

able to just press the ketostix against the diaper inside and it still absorbed

enough for ketones to read.

We use cotton pads (I guess that is what you would call them) they are round

cotton disks that are flat and they work very well for us.

Subject: wears diapers/trouble checking ketones

Hi all,

Can anyone offer a suggestion for a better way to " catch " enough

urine in a diaper to check ketones? I have been using cotton balls

in Adrielle's diapers, as suggested by various sources, but I am not

having any luck.

I use 3 cotton balls as opposed to just one, but without fail the

diaper will be wet and the cotton balls not, or they will be wet but

not wet enough. Does anyone use anything else that works better??

I haven't been able to check levels for a few days now and I'm

getting a bit nervous!
