Getting Paid for This Group

Hi, Everyone, is quite correct. We don't get paid money, we get paid in love, support, and

gratitude from the membership. That is enough for me. LOL Hugs to all, MM

I got an email from a member ..

who asked, "How much do you guys get paid for keeping up with this

group?"

She further explained, "I saw the comment about wanting a raise and it

just got me curious to see if this would be something I could do to

earn extra money."

I hate to disappoint you .. and anyone else under the mistaken

assumption that we get paid.

We don't.

The owner of the group, Deanna, opened this group solely so people who

were suffering from Lupus and other autoimmune diseases could get

together and talk. Support has been proven to help patients with severe

illness and forming this group was her way of helping.

As the group grew, she added co-owners to help her keep track of the

members, addresses, doing the research, etc. that is required to keep a

group running.

To keep our members safe from people who would take advantage of them

... it was agreed that new members would be moderated until we felt they

were "safe" to post without us having to read and approve their

messages before allowing the messages to be sent to the board.

As the group grew, more moderators were added to also help read

messages, since the owner and co-owners cannot be on the board 24 hours

a day. Moderators are chosen from different time zones so there is

hopefully someone online at any given time of day to moderate and okay

messages from members.. to add new members and send them welcomes.

There is a lot of work in keeping this group safe and running smoothly.

BUT ..

we don't get paid with money .. there is no monetary compensation for

our work.

We do this as a community service and for the smiles, support and sense

of family this group provides for us as well.
