> Hello what does magnesium do for headaches? Shirley

Magnesium has several important metabolic functions. It plays a role

in the production and transport of energy. It is also important for

the contraction and relaxation of muscles.

Okay .. the following is kind of the laymans explanation .. so realize

there is no real " medical jargon " here.. just words.

In the case of tension headaches, those are usually caused by the

muscles becoming tense and " squishing " the blood vessles and nerve

endings. This is what is causing the pain.

Magnesium will help control the relaxing process of the muscles. If

you are low on magnesium, your body loses control of how tense the

muscles can become .. it is like the body doesnt realize how tight it

is tensing up.

Magnesium helps the body to " beome aware " of how tight or loose the

muscles need to be to maintain good health.
