Guest guest
I have rosacea, and I think sebderm also. I've just started on the rosacea disks and as part of that therapy, started to drink a lot of water. Just the water has made a difference already. It seems so basic but I just wanted to remind folks to keep their water consumption at recommended levels. I'm not a natural water drinker so I must concentrate to do it, but I'm hoping that it will really help in the long run. Right now I'm drinking 80-90oz a day. Guest guest
Join the club I developed a habbit now, 3 litters of bottled natural spring water everyday. In the morning basically before work instead of buying coffee like the majority of people do, I buy two 1.5L bottles of water that normally last me for the rest of the work-day. I noticed my skin started improving ever since I picked up that habbit. First of all my skin is less oily, second I dont blush as much as I used to. best of luck, SC. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
A simple way to know if you are drinking enough water is how often you use the restroom. From what I understand, an adult should use the facilities every two hours. I just make sure I drink a glass of water after each visit. --- SC scowboy79@...> wrote: > Join the club > > I developed a habbit now, 3 litters of bottled > natural > spring water everyday. Guest guest
Actually, I work in the health field and it is very important to remember that every adult's urinary frequency is the same. If you don't go every two hours, it does NOT mean you are abnormal or aren't getting enough water. Most, not all, people will go every 1 1/2 - 4 hours. Freqency of urination depends on many factors, such as amount of exertion a person faces throughout the day, salt intake, if the person was semi-dehydrated the day prior, didn't drink enough water, etc. There are certain signs that you are not drinking enough water such as if your urine is dark in color, is " small " in quantity, or is non-existent throughout the day entirely. - Re: Drinking water > A simple way to know if you are drinking enough water > is how often you use the restroom. Guest guest
Meant to say every adult's urinary frequency is NOT the same! So much for nimble fingers.... Guest guest
I must agree with the " water theory " . I have noticed a almost perfect complextion for the last 5 months, now that I said that I'm sure to have a major break-out of resacea. Christmas morning was my last week of a horrible break-out, and ever since I have been forcing myself to drink water all day long, I try to drink a gallon a day. Guest guest
I have a problem with drinking tap water for some reason. I don't have it with bottled water, but notice that when I drink Evian water my skin looks great. It's $2.00 per 1.5 liters near my workplace. I know this is cheaper elsewhere but I don't drive to work. Water is very heavy to lug around. Instead of treating myself to decaf latte or a soda, I buy Evian every day. I can tell the difference when I drink another brand of bottled water. Take care! Matija > > I must agree with the " water theory " . Guest guest
Hi Matija and everyone, It's Volvic for me. I, too, can't drink straight tap water. Run through the Britas filter I can take it for a little while. But the Volvic then is the real tonic. I imagine it's more alkaline than than local water. How much do you drink a day, Matija? Guest guest
It's interesting that Matija and Pink Cat mentioned Volvic and Evian-- aren't they both French waters, or am I just susceptible to the water marketing? I have singled out these two in the past as tasting very different from other bottled waters. I don't know the word for the taste-- perhaps it's that they're softer, with fewer minerals. They taste more tasteless to me, if that makes any sense. I wonder if something to do with that taste makes them better for your skin? --Elisabeth
Guest guest
Hiya Pink, 1.5 liters is approximately six eight-ounce glasses of water. I have a stash of Evian at home so I drink two more eight-ounce glasses of water there. Total for the day is around eight glasses of water. If I drink more than ten, I feel a bit waterlogged. I've seen Volvic at the store. I think I've seen it at Trader Joe's too. I think I'll take a closer look at it now. How much of the Volvic do you drink per day? Thanks! Guest guest
Elisabeth, I haven't tried Volvic but I know what you mean about Evian. If you drink the Evian and then another bottled water (besides Volvic probably) or tap water, the other water does taste different, even bad. Evian does have minerals in it. Maybe the concentration is more palatable than other bottled waters. I have my husband hooked on Evian too. Take care! Guest guest
Hi Matija and , Yes, they are " tasteless " those two waters. Other waters I like are Highland Springs from Scotland, which you can rarely find here, but I get over there -- when it's available. I also love Decantae from North Wales, which is not imported here. So I drink it there. And Ty Nant from South Wales -- that's the one in the beautiful blue glass bottle, which costs and arm and a leg. These UK waters are very soft tasting. As for the Volvic, I get the 1.5 liters bottles at the health food store -- two cases at a time (we borrow one of their shopping carts and bring it home. We're just around the corner -- literally.) They are $1.99 per bottle. If you get a case you get 10% off. I drink two bottles a day if I can. The only times I can't is when I'm on the road. You know the formula: take your weight in pounds (100 lbs, for example), cut in half (50 lbs) drink that many OUNCES of water: In this case 50 ounces, for your bare minimum. Cheers! Guest guest
Lots of people support that. Living here in NYC with a toy kitchen I don't have the room to put in a purifier. There are enough variations on them to make your head spin. My chiropractor, who lives upstate in a house, got one that can even balance the ph of the water. Excellent, I say. pink cat > > > > I must agree with the " water theory " . Guest guest
Bottled water is often what is termed " remanufactured " water. This is especially true for those vending machines where you can bring a 5-gallon bottle and fill it up. This water is just tap water that has been filtered extensively. They add a small number of minerals back to give it some taste that is appealing, since pure water has no taste and seems flat. The Evian and similar waters are actually taken from springs and bottled. You pay for the cost to transport this water from one part of this watery planet to another, as bizarre and unnecessary as this may seem. (Quality water is rapidly disappearing in the world, and it seems highly probable that wars between countries may be fought this century over the matter of water supplies.) There are those that insist that the best water you can drink, healthwise, is distilled water. I'd be very wary of fluoridated water. I think that the benefits are dubious, perhaps overblown, and secondary health effects more likely to appear. The benefits to dental health may be minimal. You'd get far better results by cutting down on (or eliminating) sugar and refined flour foods, but in this world, consumption rules because it sells; abstinence doesn't sell anything. So a network of mutually-beneficial (i.e., profitable) conditions arises. Sugary foods addict us to consume them, and to protect us against tooth decay, fluoridated water is foisted on whole communities; lots of toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste is sold. Dentists come to our aid. When degenerative diseases arise, doctors, surgeons, pharmaceutical firms and wheelchair makers are waiting for us. Abstinence en masse would put a lot of people out of work and cause recessions. Here is a good article to read on the effects of modern foods: http://www.soilandhealth.org/02healthlibrary/0203longevitycat/020305p pnf/price.html> Here, Price found isolated, " primitive " people who never brushed their teeth and had a kind of green slime covering their teeth, yet there was nearly no decay or devitalized teeth. In every case where an individual was found that had severe dental problems, it was determined that the person had spent a few years outside the traditional community, consuming modern foods. So what is with this fluoride thing, anyway? Ray
Guest guest
I never used to drink much water, my body had trouble absorbing it, or I guess processing it, until I got the PiMag Water filter. Now I drink up to 60 oz a day, I had trouble before drinking 2 to 3 glasses a day. This is a unique technology is very briefly explained below. My sister discovered this products by a company called Nikken, she was in severe back pain after having a 3rd child and now she is completely healed. She couldn't sleep and every day she looked more depleted until she came across this products. I not only drink this water but I also wash my face with it and spray my face on a regular basis when I'm starting to feel flushed. The chlorine in tap water can be so drying and very unhealthy for you skin. My face has amazingly improved. I think that the less chlorine you have the best shape you'll be in. They also have a shower head that filters it. Basically when you drink it, your trips to the bathroom are a lot less than it would be with regular tap water. The filter is the best one made as of this date, it can filter up to 0.1 micron. Bacteria such as E-coli and chromeum 6 would be among the ones filtered since they are much bigger than 0.1 micron. --Rynnette INFORMATION ABOUT FILTER: PiMag Water System The only drinking water system with microfine ultrafiltration magnetic technology and pi! It's here-the revolutionary technology that makes your drinking water better. The PiMag Water System. It uses four advanced technologies-a combination available only from Nikken. Guest guest
Hi Francine, My sister has done a number of things to heal her back. She tapes a mini on the knot on her back, she uses the elestomag neck wrap, the sleep system, and likes the intellirest mattress better than the kenko mattress. It took her about 4 months before her back was better and it has been since December she hasn't seen her chiropractor. For maintenance purpose she now wears the insoles and the neck wrap when she feels is getting tight. If the knot starts getting tight she will put a mini magnet on it. My boss had a knee injury and he used the insoles and knee wrap to get rid of his injuries. Today he can walk again. He told me it only took 2 hours after he put the insoles for him to walk normally. He would be limping from one meeting to the next. Before I use the Pi-Mag Water filter, I had to use the Metro-cream, and my face was always bumpy and red. What I do now is I drink a lot of Pi-Mag water. I also spray it cold on my face. This is very soothing for me since my face gets burning hot. If its too cold coming out of the faucet try setting some aside on a basin and wait about half an hour. It takes some pre-planning but in the long run it will be well worth it. I use their Swiss botanical lotion or cream at night and day, during the day I use the Zinco as my sunblocker. I also sleep on the intellirest mattress. I do not have the pillow but am considering getting one since I also have ocular rosacea and wanted to try and see if this would get rid of it or alleviate it. I'm considering using the Pi-Mag Water as drops for alleviating the ocular symptoms. I also have the necklace since I have bad allergies and sinuses. I believe that these products allow your body to heal by slowly getting rid of all the toxins in your body overtime. I'm considering trying their liver supplements since liver issues are the root of a lot of skin disorders. Re: Fw: Drinking water Hello Rynnette, I would like to talk to you about the Nikken products. We are new customers of these products and I was very glad when I read your post. I am from Canada. I hope you will excuse my English , because my first language is French. We bought the Pi-Mag Water filter last week, and I am very happy about the system. We were buying bottled water since 15 years, so I think the PiMag was welcome. You say that you wash your face with the Pi-Mag , I tried, but this is so ....so ..... cold water ? How do you do ? (We can't let hot water run through PiMag filter.). My husband have Nikken insoles since 2 months, and I see a great difference in his energy. I have the Nikken necklace since 2 weeks , because I am asthmatic and have often sinus infections. So my brother and my husband tought it would be good for me. I din't see any difference yet ... but it is too soon ... they told me ... You said your sister healed her back pain . Can you tell me with " witch products " ? Thank you very much in advance, Francine

Guest guest
I asked my sister if she knew how much money it costs per gallon for the Pi-Mag water system. It seems a lot of people are concern about the money. This is one of the newest products Nikken has and I frankly did not know the total cost when I bought mine. I'm just glad I got it. Below is an e-mail from one of Nikken distributors who attended a recent conference. Hi Don, Thank you for all you do in keeping us well informed. A few pieces of information that I learned at the product launch I attended in Baltimore that you might want to pass along. We were told that the cost of a gallon of water from the Pi Mag Water System is $0.45 per gallon. A good figure to know for marketing purposes. Also, we were told that in relation to the fact that the PI Mag filters to 0.1 micron, the smallest bacteria is 10 microns in size. Also it was mentioned that we absolutely should not run hot water thru the unit, as that will damage the filters (superfine one, I think). Re: Fw: Drinking water > > > > > > Is there a web site?
