hi i haven't been on this site for awhile. Kieran has been doing ok

his ketones have been high and seizures not too bad! about 7 a

month. But his behavour has been much better, lots of eye contact

and laughing, giggling. He has been eating well even at school. That

was until last week when he caught a cold!!!!! took him to the

doctors and a relief doctor put him onto antibiotics and cream for a

virus, but the antibiotic were not sugar free and he insisted that

he should have them and that it was more important to get Kieran

better again than a DIET!!!!!!! I think he thought i was a mad

mother who put her child on a weird diet for no reason! Anyway after

two days Kieran became miserable and had clusters of siezures over

night. So i stopped giving it to him. It has taken me the whole week

to get his ketone levels bac up to medium/high. sorry for going on

but i have to get my anger out some how!!!!!!!!!!! Another thing is

that our consultant will not start to reduce Kieran's medication

until he's been on the diet for a year. I am so frustrated! At least

its not been increased and with Kieran putting on a little weight

he's not on a large amount of epilin apparently. Well i hope

everyone is getting on ok i will visit more often now i hope. Weve

been very busy what with hospital appoints and othe rchildren

sitting A-level and exams and going off to university i feel as

though i need arest. bye for now. Ann.
