You are so right about Nikki being a lionness and how appropriate. She is in the sorority, Alpha Delta Psi and their mascot is Alphie the lion. She has lion everything! Nikki is often soft spoken and polite, but you really don't want to push her too far! She will do fine with her inlaws and when the time is right, she will put them in their place! Nikki is totally intolerant of prejudice of any sort and her future inlaws make comments about people of other races, religion, or sexual preference. Nikki is determined that their children will be exposed to as little prejudice as possible. She can't stop it from everywhere, but she determined that her children will not be exposed to prejudice from family members. I told her to bide her time and then when the opportunity presents itself for her to 'ever so sweetly with her lovely southern voice' tell them that while everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is not one she shares and that she and intend to raise their children to love people based on character, not on skin color, religion, or sexual preference. Anyone that is unable to keep their prejudice comments to themselves will simply miss out on getting to have a relationship with our children. I told her to say it just as sweetly as she can, smile, and then walk away and refuse to discuss it further! I told her I have no doubt she can do this with class and grace and she can put any of 's obnoxious relatives in their place!

If they have half a brain, they will realize that it is in their best interest to stay on Nikki's good side because as we all know, it is typically the woman that makes more of an effort to spend time with family! I have no doubt that Nikki will do just fine and she will handle every situation with class, because she is indeed one classy young woman!

Yes, I'm a very proud mom, but I can't take all the credit. A lot of NIkki's qualities are simply Nikki - she was born with many of her most admirable qualities!

thanks again for the kind words.
