Guest guest
SHANNON-So many of us are so elated to hear that this infection problem is finally over. So many of us prayed that the right doctors would make the right decisions in your care and I feel that those prayers were answered. The phenergan thing is very funny and ironic-when I was just in the hospital they gave me Phenergan 12.5 mg Iv for the migraine and when I said I was nauseated again the ER Nazi RN told me I had exceed the maximum dose and couldn't have anymore Phenergan for 6 hrs...what a bonehead! I told her that I was going home if she refused to call someone else (I had my FP, Neurologist, plus the ER docs),explained I usually take 50mg Phenergan every 4 hrs and politely insisted that she DO SOMETHING NOW-I felt badly for the ER staff but the nightshift kept me up all night complaining about having 35 patients in a 24 bed ER and unfortunately they were more concerned about how undoable it was and in 12 hrs never checked on my neurological status/took a BP or asked how I was doing. I got the nurse for 1 1/2 minutes the time it took to give me two IV doses of Phenergan.

YOu know if they had a class on common sense and compassion in nursing or med school we would have a lot less " health care professionals " . 12,5 of Phenergan for someone with a migraine not to mention CP? that is a joke. why didn't they just give you a shot of saline? it would have worked just as well. It scares me to think what would have happend to the " normal " patient had they been put in my situation this past 2 months. they would have probable died. I was ALWAYS calling and making a real pain out of myself with the ID doc but if I hadn't taken a proactive approach and stayed involved instead of palying the waiting game... I have NEVER considered a law suit before- even when the doctor almost killed me following an EP study with ablation and caused me to have the SVC syndrome. I could have owned his practice and he knew it but because I felt like I knew that there were risks involved and I really felt like it was just a " freak " thing that happened. Thank you for all the prayers there is no doubt that they were answered. I don't know how I would cope with all of this without my Faith. I can't imagine. I believe that I was meant to share my Faith with others-how I am thankful for my health. It might not be the best and I have ups and downs but I have life and that to me is a precious gift to be thankful for-- that and my family esp. my husband. He is just incredibly supportive, I thank God everyday for having him in my life and for Him sending him to me. I am often asked how do you handle all of this and I tell them I don't, I don't have to I turn it over to God for His help. He carries me. I glad to here you are feeling better as well. That was a scare for you I know. I will keep you in my prayers. >
