Thanks for your input. So you divide each meal out on the mealplanner and

put it in as 1 meal. I'll try that. When we started the diet before, our

dietician did not perfectly balance out the snacks only the ratio. I'm

going to

try to work on it.

***It's not the way our dietician does it I don't think, pretty sure she has

a speadsheet of types, but this method works for me, means I can do it all

myself when I want :)

>Its all coming back to me. It was kind of weird this am with that scale

on the counter. I put it in a different place this time. Isnt that silly.

***Lol, nope, I think I would do the same if it were me starting again after

a break from it.

>I just hated that scale so much the last time but we've had almost a year

away from it and I'm kinda happy to see it hoping that it will give

some relief.

***Yep, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with our scales too.

>How is s wean going?? Is he sz free? I hope you are able to rid

the

depakote if you want to.

***Touching some wood? Yes, he is still seizure free :) We have weaned 175

mgs dep so far, so he is now on 325 mgs per day. His last blood levels showed

his free carnitine level is as a result on the rise, with total carn finally

back (just) in the normal range. (yahoooo) So the purpose for weaning it is

having the desired result. His zinc level has normalised again as well. We have

therefore slowed the reductions back down, we still have to keep going to get

both the carn levels back in a good healthy range, but I feel like the pressure

to go fairly rapidly at the start has been eased now - and that is a huge

relief.

>I have to tell you that since we added it back 3

mos ago for his moods have gotten soooooo much better that I

wonder

if the depakote helps his moods and behaviors. Its does make him a bit

slower and also more uncoordinated. He is getting 125 in am and 250 at pm.

**It is actually prescribed for mood stability sometimes isn't it, for non -

epileptics, so I can see how that happens, but I can't say as I really notice

that here. Perhaps if anything the opposite. I see def behaviour quirks when we

are in the midst of a reduction, a heap more whiney stuff etc, and he is harder

to keep occupied than usual. But that seems to settle by the end of the first

week each time, so far anyhow...

's handwriting is the area where I (and his teachers) have noticed the

biggest improvement since bringing the levels down, so yeah, poss coordination

issues here too with this one.

>Glad to see you are around. You are much better at the calculations in

math

than I am. I had to take calculus and finite math twice each in college to

get the grades. Math is not my forte'.

***Lol, I can take it or leave it - not my forte either, but the percentage

bit, now that I have the hang of it, is coming together ok :) Needs must....

Take care

**You too, good luck with the 'new start', will be waiting to see how he

goes,
