Guest guest
Hi Shirese! I really tend to doubt that weight is at all related to CU. No doctor has ever suggested it to me. I think that's about as bad as them trying to tell us it's from stress. Tami (NJ) P.S. I've had my hives through thin and fat, come to think of it. Guest guest
I agree with Jackie that the pred. and malaise associated with CU can make you gain weight, but as a teen back in the prehistoric days, I was actually reed thin with hives, so I know weight does not cause them, but I know a lot of things that do :•) (The great thing about the internet is that you can be any weight you want and no one ever has to know!) Guest guest
There are some who feel that CU/masto itself can cause weight gain. Certainly the drugs we take contribute to it as well - especially pred, but so do antihistamines. Also, because so many of us are limited in the amount of physical activity we do, that also adds to gain. Air hugs, Jackie Life is tough, but I'm tougher. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi Shirese I'm Nice to meet you : ) Although I have never located evidence of over or underweight being a cause for any form of urticaria - Phil, our group owner and our old itch doctor happen to be (together) reasearching a link between histamine and fat cell/storage connection. I will go into the archives sometime tomorrow and see if I can locate anything for you on this theory. If you are thinking that because you are over or under weight that you have caused yourself urticaria..........I think from what I've seen and learned over the years that you can relieve yourself of any guilty conscience with that one. We'll figure this all out one day with the kind of people we have here. If it helps any, we have all creeds, colors, sizes, ages, sexes, occupations, etc...amongst our over 500 members. I believe this shows that Urticaria is not selective or partial to any one 'brand' of human being. ~ SWELL in Michigan
