Guest guest Posted November 4, 2004 Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 Thank you for your answers about Tanner and his seizures. Today he was okay. He hasn't had seizures for 3 days now. I sent your feedback to her to read and pass anything she thinks is helpful along to her doctor. I would love to get him off the medicines but she has a lot of confidence in her doctor. (More than I do) She thinks he knows more than I do. (Imagine that) He was in very bad shape before starting the diet. Her doctor diagnosed him with Landau Kleffner Syndrome which is rare. Many doctors have not seen a case of it. Tanner had lost all of his speech. He can now talk very well again and had not had a seizure since the first of July that you could detect. His doctor also was smart enough to start him on the ketogenic diet which saved his life I feel. I think he would do better on less medicines but I am only the Grandma and I am not in charge so we shall see what the lamictal blood test shows. I shall try to get her to read some of the posts about the meds and the diet together. If her doctor wants to up the medicine again or Tanner has more seizures I am going to try to have her get a second opinion if her doctor won't take him down on the lamictal. Thanks for your support.
