I love my yard even though it's huge. About 1 acre of it is woods and a small pond so we don't worry about that but the rest we keep nice and neat. We do a lot of mowing during the summer months. I have had a compost before. I used to put leaves and kitchen scraps in it but now I've gotten away from doing that. Guess I'm getting lazy. Have you seen the leaf sweepers that Sears sells? Boy, they are really neat and not expensive. You just hook it up to the back of your lawn tractor and it picks up the leaves and sticks. I'm hoping to have one of them next year.

Mosquitoes......ha....I bet I got you beat there. Having a pond certainly breeds mosquitoes and the wooded area I mentioned is swampy and perfect for mosquitoes. I have had to call mosquito control out because we couldn't go out side, even in the daytime, without being covered with mosquitoes. We had several cases of West Nile virus here in Okaloosa county last year and we had to have our pond treated for mosquitoes and even the woods. The county did that for free and it helped alot
