Guest guest
Bill, You are weaning the diet. How are things going? Did you get control and not need it or are you trying something else. The miralax seems to be working for us so we'll just keep it at that. Do you have a list of the recommended supplements for a seizure kiddo on the diet? Guest guest
Weaning is just as stressful as being 100 percent on the diet. We are still weighing and keeping a ratio even though it is nearly a regular diet. I think we are at 0.3:1. I try to keep protein about equal to carbohydrate. I am restricting calories as per regular keto, even had to drop a bit. Control is about as good as it has ever been. 2 or 4 short seizures a day with immediate recovery. About 1 month ago there were a lot more for some reason and we nearly went onto a med, but thankfully they went away. There seems to be a period of 1 or 2 weeks after a diet change where things can be unsettled. We are dropping very slowly. It will take about 1 year. Miralax, whatever works for you on the diet! We had some hair loss at the beginning of the diet even though we had a local supply of supplements. We switched to WholeLife in California who make supplements especially for the diet and this went away. We use Cal-Mag-Zinc III. We also give milk of magnesia. And I add brazil nuts daily. And I add some psyllium husks for fibre. lloydandleslie@... wrote: > Bill, > You are weaning the diet. How are things going?
