Hmm, I take it all these tests were done in a fasting state?

My only thought is there might be a fat absorption/metabolism problem, I know

some children can stay in the normal range for lipids depending on the fat

sources used - but I don't think I have come across too many who actually show

below normal....

Maybe a fecal fat stool test might cross any malabsorption issues off the

list, but apart from that, not sure - be glad his lipds are not raised ??

SORRY - my little guy pressed sent a bit

prematurely...

The part that I left out were the normal ranges

As I was saying - just got back some blood work for

and his cholesterol levels were WAY LOW.

Didn't know if any red flags should be raised???

Cholesterol was 59 and 118-200 (normal range)

Triglycerides 86 131 - 200

HDL Cholesterol 18 27 - 67

LDL Cholesterol 24 62 - 109

Should I be concerned that these numbers are so low?

Obviously, I'd prefer low cholesterol over high but my

pediatrician thought these numbers were way off...

What do you think?

In addition - for his complete blood count - his HGB

was high - 15.0G/DL normal was 11.5 - 14.5 and his HCT

was 44.9% (normal was33.0 - 43.0). These numbers

pertain to liver funcioning I believe. My ped.

thought they were high due to the diet but I don't

trust that he knows what he's talking about.

Any thoughts? Everything else looked OK.

THANKS!
