Guest guest
I have the book and have read it as well. Before Noah's diagnosis, we had thought about trying the SCD to control his seizures as he had many gastro-related problems, too. Shortly after I got the book we started the ketogenic diet and since that worked for us, we never gave the SCD a try. Definitely something to consider! There are webgroups for help with that diet as well. madduxandme@... wrote: i just got the book, breaking the viciuos cycle. i am going ot put maddux on deto diet when we move to the east coast but since i am not sure when that will be i thought i might give this diet a try. anyone have any advice? jaime

Guest guest
Patti, who use to moderate this list group but now lurks in the background, put her daughter on the diet and eventually weaned her of the keto diet. It worked well for about 6 months. I've read the book and applied it to our daughter while on keto. The book states that a person with gut issues can develop epilepsy. While you are waiting to start the keto diet this diet (SCDiet) will be a good way to rule out seizures due to gut issues. It also will have you eliminate food colouring, preservatives, processed foods and other additives that will benefit Maddux. It will be easy to go from the SCDiet to keto and is a great way to prepare Maddux mentally for the keto diet. With the SCDiet you will be making lactose free yoghurt. When you start the keto diet you can switch over to making lactose free yoghurt cream (use cream instead of milk). Rhonda, mom to Shan age 9 i just got the book, breaking the viciuos cycle. i am going ot put maddux on deto diet when we move to the east coast but since i am not sure when that will be i thought i might give this diet a try. anyone have any advice? jaime
