Guest guest
Savanna is on 3 meals/day with the same numbers. What I do is make up the protein portion in small tupperwear type containers and freeze. she gets salads for 2 meals/day -i use larger containers (or Mc's containers) and put part of her portion of carbs(vegies) sour cream and lettuce in them. Usually make up 2-3 days worth of salads at a time and there is almost always at least a dozen protein portions of meals in the freezer. For breakfast she has cottage cheese/mayo/oil and those are made up 10 at a time (or what ever I get out of a container of cottage cheese) The rest of her carbs for lunch and supper are fruit and those are also made in advance-usally 3-4 days worth. Can you tell we have lots of containers! Cream is weighed out into " milk chugs " containers-at least 5-7 days at a time. When it's mealtime I can just grab items-add proper amount of mayo/oil to protein and we're set to go. Kathy/WI
Guest guest
Hi Mike, I tend to make 6-12 quiches with various veggies/meat and cheesecakes at a time. So it takes an hour or so to weigh and mix everything into small pyrex bowls, but when they come out of the oven and cool I throw the lids on, put them in the fridge, and I'm good to go for several days. Then I can add a few hot dog meals or eggs for variety. loves the cheesecake especially with fresh blueberries! Good luck, Heidi, future occupational therapist and single mom to (IS, Severely/Multiply Impaired, Ketokid since 12/03) and twin brother, (4 years), and big sis Madison (6). Guest guest
Thank you all for you responses. They have been very helpful. I have another question along the same lines. I read that there is a Keto drink that you can make (or maybe you had to buy it) that was already in the ratio your child was on so therefore they could drink one sip or a whole glass and be fine. Is this something that is for emergency's only or for times of sickness? I understand that liquids are restricted on the diet but I am wondering if this is something you keep in the refrigerator for anytime your child wants a drink or what this is for.
