Guest guest
Hi, guys! Hoping you can help. Jimmy is doing well on the diet (Lennox Gastaut seizures are GONE, except when he is sick or teething!). He was having over 100 seizures a day before the diet, and was on a combination of 6 different medications. Anyway, here goes: Jimmy's reduction in seizures caused him to require fewer calories than originally specified during induction (he had " failure to thrive " pre-diet, and it was suggested that he get a G-tube, but we held-off!). We stuck with formula in the beginning, and now I'd like to learn to get creative and introduce foods. I was hopin you could suggest purees (ie: cheesecake recipe, or other babyfood-like consistancy foods that kids love that are Keto- friendly). Also, I was hoping you could explain the process of learning how to convert his total calories per day (750 total, divided up into 4 meals), and his 3:1 ratio, into knowing how much of each ingredient to add into the meals. I have tried to figure it out from the book and the Meal Planner/excel worksheet, but I'm not getting it! Would the software that is sold by Hopkins be more helpful/user-friendly, or is it the same thing?! I didn't realize it was so tricky! And I previously thought I was decent at math....HUH! I appreciate any help you can give me! -Sue Ellen:) Jimmy's Mom Syracuse, NY
