Thank you, Zanna! That may explain why I can tolerate most cheese very well (a lot of the lactose is already converted), but not milk. Maybe someday....



If your villi are damaged they are probably not digesting dairy products either and those could be making you sick. The research I have done said that the dairy or lactose is digested by the tips of the villi and in CD, the villi are virtually non-existant, therefore, you cannot digest dairy easily either. It also said that after being gluten free for a time being-I have heard anywhere from 3 months to 18 months, you can try to introduce dairy again.
