Hi

Yes linseed is the same as flax. I don't use a ground one, just

cracked. However, I would have thought the ground one should work

too. Maybe the proportions of ingredients you are using are

different to mine. I use:

32g butter

26g beaten egg

20g ground almonds (almond flour)

7g linseed

liquid sweetener

per muffin. This is 427 calories 4:1 ratio. Obviously your ground

almonds and flax seed may well have different values, but this is the

proportions that work for us. I have made a sloppier mix which still

baked well. All I do is just put all the ingredients in the bowl

together and beat with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes. You can

easily multiply up the quantities and bake in a cake tin.

What quantities did you use and what went wrong, maybe I can help???

To decorate, cream whipped really really stiff and coloured can be

piped quite easily.
