Guest guest
I just wanted to update all of you who have been so helpful to us during the last few months with and his constipation and seizure issues. I must tell you that he is a new boy. I cannot believe the difference in him since he constipation is under control. It took about 3 months to get there but we are there now and he is sooooo happy. We are still seeing the am head drops sporadically for what reason I don't know. His EEG showed several seizures of what they call " atypical absence " and our other neuro called " myoclonics " . They can't agree on the type they actually are. I just say head drops. We are going to be transitioning back to the keto diet at a 2:1 ratio very soon. We are still trying to finalize who is going to be the keto team as dieticians educated in the diet are not plentiful around here. His ketones are already large every day and he is getting so much fat. The only real change will be the portions which will be a shocker to him as he eats soooo much meat and veggies at meals. He is getting a tummy on him. If we don't get results with the diet then we'll just go back to Atkins but I'm optimistic that we will since we did before and I look forward to giving him fruit and other things he cannot have on the Atkins diet. Again, Thanks so much for all of your help and if you are having constipation troubles, just know that it can literally changed your child and cause problems like you would not believe. Miralax has been great for us but it took some time to get his dosage right. THe colonoscopy was the final thing that I think helped just to get him completley cleaned out. I'd like to start probiotics but am a little scared about seizures and rocking the boat. Maybe soon.
