Guest guest
Hi, I don't know what CHOP is, or which agencies you have talked to, but my (limited) understanding is that the school district is required to provide services for your child (since he is age 3). I believe this is the case no matter which state you're in (I'm not in your state) it's part of a federal requirement. If it is the school district that is trying to tell you that there is a waiting list for their services, then that is not acceptable. You need to push further. Sorry I can't give you specific info on this, but research your son's rights further please. And don't let fear take over- each child is an individual & you don't know what proper help & interventions may do for them. , mom to Nate, age 3 > > my three year old son was diagnosed with verbal apraxia!!! no one ever > like to hear that something is wrong with there child! i scared to > death for him i kept thinking he is just a late talker, and my mom > would say he will talk when he is ready!!! now that hes three i finally > took him to c.h.o.p and he was diagnosed.... i am told by every agenccy > there is a waiting list, what do i do? i want him help like yesterday > any suggestions im a wreck... kim from philadelphia >
