Guest guest
was put on topomax after having his benzo ditched, and yes, I knew that numb or tingling hands/feet were a poss topomax side effect, but I don't think he has had it since he has been on this one. So maybe he has escaped that particular side effect...(he hasn't suffered any appetite loss either which I know many kiddies on this one do) so it was more a withdrawal thing from diaz for him. Very interesting to hear your experience, how many mgs per kg roughly did you get up to? How slowly did you increment it up? ----- Original Message ----- > Hello... > > I noticed that you both were talking about tingly fingers. I wanted to > give you some relief. Guest guest
Hi ...I know it sounds crazy! I thought, since I had the opportunity... I started at 50 mg in the morning for a week, then twice a day of 50. It was a very slow process just like the children, but when I was at her dosage, I was very dizzy and all the side effects were there. It wasn't bad, just uncomfortable until I got used to it. I'm glad I experienced it so I know. I ended up going up to about 150/day. It certainly helped my appetite decrease, the side effects started to go away, but I didn't like the focus problem. It interfered with my work. You almost couldn't notice it and I couldn't tell it was the meds, but my husband noticed right away. Sounds weird to do, but it was a fluke that I got to do it. I was trying to lose weight and that was an option. I took it. I didn't want to because I didn't understand what Topomax had to do with a diet for adults. Anyways...it definitely helped with the appetite, which I'm glad my daughter doesn't have that problem like . She's actually always pretty hungry and she's so thin! Take care and best to you and ! Guest guest
I have done something similar with 's diaz actually, but mine was accidental- long story, his little brother had somehow got hold of them, (ugh, I know, but it never happened again), we caught him before he ate any, but in his panic to run off with them, grrr, when he saw us coming, he tipped them everywhere. So during this, 's 10 mg diaz pills had been scattered around on the bench where we keep some cups for coffee upstairs and one had ended up unbeknownst to us lodged in the bottom of one of the cups. I had a coffee from that cup not long after, and it was only after I had nearly finished it that I saw the tiny remains of this bright blue pill (the rest had dissolved into the coffee which was nearly all gone) and boy, did it hit me! My legs were wobbly, I was slurring, couldn't see straight, and had to go to bed in the end and sleep it off. I do get hit with meds quite hard mind you, like even a painkiller sends me silly....but is the same, very med sensitive. Admittedly our kiddies do build up a form of tolerance to a lot of those side effects, but even if experienced half what I did during his benzo yrs, I don't honestly know how anything sunk in with him while he was on the stuff ----- Original Message ----- > Hi ...I know it sounds crazy! Guest guest
...Wow! I bet that was scary. You weren't even expecting it. Now we know. I have a little 4 yr old boy who just wants to help all the time with my daughter and it's so sweet, but I'm scared he will get curious so I kind of deter the help most of the time. He means well, but one shot of what she takes (and has taken for 2 years mind you and at a pretty high level) would send him out into one heck of a deep sleep. We try so hard to keep everything safe and away, but I know what you mean...just a split second and it's all over. (not to mention our 2 curious dogs!) They sleep so much, I wouldn't know if they accidently got one...ha! Anyways...thanks for the nice chat and will see you online I'm sure.
