Guest guest
, We get our RCF delivered via home heath care service. Our insurance allows us $10,000 a year worth of home health care services. It shows up on the bill as medical supplies just like the various tubes and syringes we get. I'm sure you've tried this already, but just in case, I thought I'd mention it. We are going to get a G Tube for our daughter in two weeks. We've been feeding her via ng tube for a year now. I hope we are making the right decision. Good Luck and God Bless, Jim Keto diet via G-tube.... help My son recieved his mic-key button and started the keto diet in July of this year. He is now 22 mths old. Our insurance has denied his RCF formula and I'm blue in the face fighting with them over it. We also got Medicaid as a secondary ins. in July. They have been paying for the RCF. We just found out that we are no longer eligible for Medicaid after 12/31. We can't afford the RCF as we are already struggling. My question: Are there other kids who are strictly tube fed that use anything other than the RCF while on the keto diet? Can baby food and cream or anything else be combined for feedings? Is this hard? Thanks for any suggestions - I really need them. " The Ketogenic Diet....a realistic treatment option, NOT just a last resort! " List is for parent to parent support only. Guest guest
, I am so surprized that your insurance will not pay for it since your son has a feeding tube. Our insurance would only pay for it if our daughter had her feedign tube. I just had about 10 cases and threw it out last week. I wish I would have known I would have shipped it to you. You can also check with WIC, Womens Infant and Children, services. They will provide you with RCF with a doctors prescription. If you qualify for Medicade youll qualify for WIC. They only offer service through age 5 but it helps. Also are you involved eith ECI, Early Childhood Intervension. They are also wonderful and help through age 3. My daughter is 26 months old. We were on the keto diest from March 2003 thru Jan 2004, but we were loosing too much weight so we got off. Just some suggestions, hope they help you some.
