Guest guest
Caitlin Does Lily have head drops or full body drops? We tried Depakote, Topomax, Keppra, Zonegran and Lamictal prior to the diet the first time. We are still on depakote. How long has Lily been on the diet? We did not fast and just started this am with breakfast. It went well. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
Guest guest
Sorry for delay, haven't scrolled recently. Lily has been on the diet since March 17, 2004. She has mostly head drops, but sometimes they are really strong and involve her torso and even her legs. She doesn't stand by herself (she is just starting to stand in therapy) but she would certainly fall most of the time if she were standing when it happens. Happily, she is weaning off the last bit of Topamax and is doing well, seizure-wise. I think we are going to get her off it completely, which is great. Lily was refractive on Topamax and Klonopin for about 8 months, and then we started the diet. Thank God her neuro never got her close to being toxic on the meds before suggesting the diet. Hope it works for your family. I have to say, I think everyone who says the diet works better with no meds is right. Happy Thanksgiving.
