neuro today

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a good day!!! I went to see my Neuro

today. He said my EMG came back good except for my left arm from the

elbow down. My EEG came back normal, so my drop attacks are not

seizure related. Thank-God!!!! I told him about the Chiari center at

NY & he immediatly asked if I wanted to go. I told him I already had

an appt. for Nov. 5th-7th. He was very happy to hear I had found the

Chiari Center. He didn't know about it. He left all my meds the way

they we're but he suggested shots in my neck & shoulders to help the

pain. I told him a definate no on the shots. My dad takes those shots

& it takes him 3 days to recover from them. I don't have that kind of

time with 4 kids, a husband, & me starting school in August. Besides,

why take something to lessen the pain that is going to make me hurt

for 3 days!!!! Maybe its just me but I dont get that. LOL So we

settled on a pain patch. Its a patch that lasts for 72 hours. I hear

It doesn't make you hyper, sleepy, or high. Its called Duragesic. So

now I'm offically in Pain Management because this is a class 3 drug &

you have to be evaluated every 4 weeks to be sure you are not abusing

the medication. I'll stand on my head & pee in a cup weekly if they

can find a medicine that I can use & have a pain free day & function

at the same time. LOL I'll keep you guys posted on how this patch

works.
