Guest guest
Pam, I'm so glad he listened to you, and that you are getting a referral to another Rheumy. That is good news for a change...at least, I hope so. Let us know how the new drug works for you, and I am sending good vibes your way. Loving hugs, MM
Guest guest
Hi gang, well Friday was my big day in Boston. Saw an immunologist. I have been taking a drug called Gancyclovir (taking it with the hope it would lower my EBV levels ), we want to lower this level so when I start Chemo, my chances of picking up a lymphoma on the way would be decreased. Well, my level actually increased, much to the surprise of both me and my docs. So now no longer on that med. I was in tears at the appointment, I barely made it there with all the pain I have been having. My entire family and boyfriend work and cannot help me during the day, I'm on my own. They FINALLY gave me a script for percocet 7.5mg and I can't believe how much better life is when we can get rid of this chronic pain. I slept sooooooo good last nite :-) Anyway, now my docs want to start me on some med that begins with an F ( I was just not with them intellectually yesterday ) but I guess it only comes in IV form. So they are making arrangments to get a hold of some of this and I will start that along with my IVIG. Thankfully, they now have finally listened to me and are sending me to another Rheaumie..the other one just wasn't with it. I almost felt bad for my doc when I saw his reaction to me being a blubbering idiot. I have always been a happy person who kids with everyone. And that is how I have been there with him since 1998. He was definatly floored seeing me sad and in pain. THANK GOD. They seem to be taking me more serious. So, my journey is far from over, but what a relief when the pain is gone. 1 pill lasts about 6-8 hours, then I can feel the pain creeping back, but what a joy to be pain free for a while. Pain really zaps the life right out of you. So, it looks as though it will be a balmy 40 degree day here in Ma. so I will be taking a walk on the beach!!! Gentle hugs to all and thanks for listening. I'll keep u posted on chemo and junk. Love, Pam
Guest guest
Pam that is so great that they got you some pain meds! Yes we all know that feeling when you have been in such pain for so long and then finally you have something that takes it away, for however long. This last time I was hurting so bad for a couple of weeks and then suddenly in the middle of the night I woke up and sat up in bed. It took me several minutes to realize what was up. Nothing hurt. It was the first time in probably a year that NOTHING hurt. Usually there is an ache or pain somewhere, it's just manageable. I am glad that your Dr knows you well enough to know that this was serious and gave you help. a C
