Guest guest
The California state flower is the poppy. They grow wild here. They come in red, yellow, and orange. In Southern CA in the dessert they grow wild and there are acers and acers of them as far as the eye can see up to beautiful mountians. They grow in seperated patches of color, a huge patch of red, then yellow, then orange. It is really something to see. My husband & I would always take the dog and kids to view them. People come on bus tours from all over the world to see them. They are starting to come up now. They grow like weeds here along the road and everything. Cheryl in CA -- Re: To and Gena - NO POPPIE SALES I have some real nice poppies. The old fashion kind. I have to put chicken wire over them because the deer eat them. The rabbits like to eat the green leaves too. If I don't get the chicken wrote: I haven't had luck with growing poppies either. I should try again. The last time I tried they weren't in a real sunny place. Maybe if I did them behind the house where they would get more sun. Those seeds are so tiny! ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
