Sue,

I know this doe not help, but I have been experiencing

the same thing. I, too wonder if it is an emotional

thing. I do have some " personal " issues that I'm

facing, but my WOE has been terrible, and my appetite

has increased. I still want to eat after I've eaten

and even when I'm full, I want something else.

I hope we find the answer to our problem. Good luck

to the both of us.

What are you eating ? If it's protein and/or carbs (even as veggies

and ESPECIALLY LC treats), try upping your fat intake. Many times we

mistakenly fall back on the old low-fat ways of eating, and leave

ourselves vulnerable to cravings. You diet should be no less than 50%

of calories as fat - 70% is better.

Are you drinking eanough ? Thirst can often be mistaken for hunger.

Try a glass of water first the next time you are hungry.

Are you taking your supplements ? Hunger after having recently eaten

is sometimes an indication of a nutrient deficiency. IF you eat a

varied diet and take a multi-vitamin, you should be OK.

I find hot drinks (tea or coffee with a bit of cream) or hot soups or

broth work wonders for those " I want something to eat but I can't

possibly be hungry " feelings. L-glutamine is good for actually

cravings.

Hope this helps.

God Bless,

I drink tea for this same reason, after lunch, or after supper. Gives my food time to settle & if I think I'm still hungry, I'll drink the tea & by the time I've drank I'm no longer hungry, my food has had a chance to do its thing :)

God bless! Jeanie

I hope someone can answer this, some days I can't stop eating!!!! I just quit smoking after years of 3 packs a day and while I have little or no craving for a smoke I reach for them out of habit, it's been 1 1/2 weeks now.

Eating too much

I don't know what my problem is but I know I'm eating too much.

I also quit smoking and know EXACTLY what you mean....

I found that for me a huge portion of it was the oral gratification habit... I

wanted SOMETHING... anything in my mouth... Then I would grind my teeth... What

I ended up doing was getting a mouth pice for the grinding and that more or

less took care of the " having something in my mouth " feeling...

And as dumb as it may sound... brush your teeth, scrub your tongue and rinse

with listerine. (and drink lots of water)

I also have days where I eat a lot. I think the key is to plan. Have legal snacks on hand and plan meals. Drink water! Sometimes our bodies want water and we shovel in food.

These things work for me WHEN I LET THEM, LOL. Some days we just make bad choices and start again.
