Guest guest
Dear Satnam I was thinking of dear Kristan and thinking back of what I did with when she was little. She is very tactilly defensive in and around her mouth. Anyway I had purchased a bunch of cheap white thin terry washcloths. With a bit of water on it, and just put one finger into the cloth, wipe around her lips until she doesn't mind the stimulation. Then, with a dab of toothpaste on that terryclothed finger, rub around in her mouth, both on her teeth and gums, and her tongue, cheeks, and top of her mouth. It will clean off her teeth and freshen her mouth. could not tolerate a toothbrush for a long time. She still isn't great about it, but with fewer seizures she seems to tolerate a lot of things more than she ever has. And, the long term benefit, of course, is that children get permanent teeth that we want them to keep a lifetime. This builds tolerance for real toothbrushing. Just an idea from my past... Maybe you can adapt it, if she is having a tough time tolerating a toothbrush, even a very soft baby one. ... 's mumma
