Guest guest
Thanks , I'm in Canada, so I'm hoping I can find this toothpaste. Do you find it difficult to clean Hannah's mouth? I am always trying to keep Kristan orally stimulated, but she's very uncooperative. She does get oral stimulation with her soother, but that doesn't keep it clean. It is also important to clean her mouth so she has that extra oral stimulation. > > Toothpaste Question > > > Kristan's breath can smell pretty bad and I do take a cloth and wipe > her mouth, but I think I need to use toothpaste. Guest guest
Thanks , I will try whichever one I can find, the Tom's of Maine or Arm and Hammer. That's good to know that hasn't had any problems from swallowing the toothpaste. Satnam > > You can use the Tom's of Maine toothpaste available at whole food > stores and sometimes target. Guest guest
Hi , sorry to hear that Hannah seized all day yesterday, that still happens to Kristan every few weeks. Kristan had a NG tube as well last year for approximately two months, and thankfully she went back to oral feeding, the doctors and some nurses said she would never feed orally again, but thankfully she did and shocked them all. I hope the rough patch is over and she is doing better. Satnam > > You can use the Tom's of Maine toothpaste available at whole food > stores and sometimes target. Guest guest
The doctors and nurses said the same thing about Hannah. She had the ng while in the NICU when she was first born. I was the good new mommy and learned everything the nurses said we must know. My husband hated the ng tube and refused to do it. The night before Hannah was to be released, he finally said he would try put it in. He also said after he put it in he was taking it out and it was going to stay out. He was right! Hannah hasn't used it at all at home. During hospitalizations, they put it back in. At home, we take the time and she does great. Hannah is doing much better today! The seizures are back down and the formula is staying in her little tummy. We have had such a hard time with those nasty tonic seizures tossing her tummy all around and projectiling formula across the room (usually in my direction) You haven't started Kristan on solids yet, right? Hannah is scheduled to start solids around 11 months. She is now nearly 9 months. I do have a speech therapist working with her to keep those muscles working, but with every seizure, who knows what damage is being caused. Guest guest
Hi , I totally know what you are talking about, the nurses at the hospital don't want to take the time to feed your child, they just say put in a ng tube, you shouldn't be spending so much time feeding your child. I never leave Kristan alone when she is in hospital as I know when she fusses with the bottle a nurse will just put in an ng tube! Good to hear Hannah is doing better. I have started Kristan on solids, but it is a real struggle, the seizures keep interfering. She can only do blended smooth foods right now, can't chew. I don't remember the exact time we started, but it's been a number of months. Right now Kristan is teething again (molars) so she is refusing all solid meals.
