Guest guest
CHECKING CREDENTIALS If you know nothing of your doctor’s reputation, it’s a good idea to find out if there have been any complaints against him or her. You can often get this information from the State Board of Medical Examiners in the state where the doctor practices. (I have also seen the term as Board of Registration in Medicine. The name may vary). I have sometimes been given information over the phone while some states required I send a written request. You can also call 1-800-776-CERT to find out if a doctor is board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Their website is www.certifieddoctor.org. There is also a manual entitled " The Official ABMS Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists. " Your local library may have one Cheryl in CA
