Guest guest
Sorry you are having trouble Mike. We are only on formula so gets her liquids that way. She doesn't have much of an appetite, so we have to drop an NG tube everyday to pump the rest of her fluids in. I remember back when she did have an appetite we started watering down her formula to make it last longer. That affected her Keytones very much. Too much water made her less ketotic. I agree with you. I would think less fluids (unless they contained calories) would make his keytones higher. Not much help am I? Jim Liquid Intake Broc has been on the diet for about two months now and we can not maintain a deep ketosis. We are usually in the 40 to 80 range. We have been making some adjustments but still nothing. Our biggest struggle is to get him to drink his full requirement of liquids. Currently he is on 1000 calories, a 4 to 1 ratio, and 1100 cc of liquids. We are lucky to get 3/4 of this in him. Is this effecting ketosis or just putting him at increased risk for kidney stones. I would think if anything it would make ketones higher. Mike Bartenhagen mike@...> mike@... www.blackcows.com
