Guest guest
We're back from our camping trip. After 5 days of camping we opted to come home and go on special excursions for the remainder of our holiday. Our two kids were both wanting to come home. They are ages 7 and 9 and like to be home. Mom and Dad were ready to come home too. We had some good times but we also had some stressful times and I now understand why people often wait until their kids get older and can appreciate times like these. We did do something extra special which was take a boat out to the barrier reef. Except for some high waves and sea sickeness on the way (amazingly Shan did not get sea sick), the day was wonderful. If you are ever in Australia, a tour to the barrier reef is a must. It really is a wonder. From a ketogenic view point camping went well. I made the meals for day one traveling ahead of time, but for the other meals I put them together each day. I cut up bulk vegetables ahead of time for the entire family. We basically ate the same way that we eat at home. We used a camp stove. Shan's snacks were simple consisting of walnuts. I meausured and bagged her snacks ahead of time for about 6 days. We are in the process of packing and getting ready to return to the U.S. for 3 months and then on to the Philippines (leave in November). I won't be receiving keto e-mail directly to my address but will be accessing it through the web site. Anyone is welcome to write me personally. I will most likely check the web site mail every 1-2 days. Rhonda (mom to Shan, age 9, keto kid over 2 1/2 years)
