Guest guest
Hi - hope you don't mind if I jump in - I tried adding flaxseed oil to Lily's diet, and I don't think it was too successful. She was on a 3.75 ratio and 875 calories a day. I lowered her ratio a tad to 3.5 and stopped the flaxseed oil. She was having an upswing in seizures and I think her ketones might have been too high. I went back to a butter/safflower oil combo, which she seems to tolerate better. She had a nice 2 week seizure free period, with a mild episode yesterday. On the BM issue, hers are nasty. She either doesn't go at all, or just has runny diarrhea. God-awful and impossible to contain. We use Miralax, but can't seem to find the happy medium. For the flaxseed oil, you'd need to have the recipes recalculated. It's not on the Stanford excel program, which is what I use and it's not interchangeable.
