excuse my ignorance, but are epsom salt baths safe for babies?

i recently started bathing my 3 year old son and my 5 month old

daughter together and i am wondering if it's okay to put epsom salts

in the water?

Safe for the 3 yr old, probably yes. Ramp up slowly. Child will absorb the

magnesium thru the skin.

Not sure if the dose for the 3 yr old will be too much for the 5 month old. Too

much magnesium will cause diarrhea.

My son (now 5) started epsom salt baths at over 3.5 his sister bathes with him

she is now 2.5 but at the time was a bit over 1. She remains about half his

weight. They both tolerate it nicely. We do a cup every other day.
