Viola, don't have much advice on the fasting as we didn't fast when

we started, but one thing to keep in mind are things to stay busy

with! This was our biggest thing, Kalob had to have something to do

all the time... Want to wish you the best on your journey, hope it

all goes well.

Hi Viola,

Good, good luck to you and Caden over the next few weeks! My son

has similar seizures and syndrome to your fellow. We began the kd

in June. The best advice I recieved from my keto-coaches was to

pull all the starches and sugars from his diet 3-4 days ahead of

time. The whole family participated and it gave us all a chance to

talk about the up coming changes -- eating healthy whole foods

instead of highly processed foods, foods that are going to help

Isaac and ones that make him sick. It was important learning for

everyone and I'm sure it was much less of a shock to Isaac's body

once we actually started. His favorite food in the world was fries

and he loved other starches too. So it was a bit of a way of

breaking in gently. Isaac has had an excellent response to the

diet. He's not seizure free or med free HOWEVER he has so much

fewer of both that he has his life back, and so do we!

For the fast I just imagined that Isaac was sick and not eating for

his own good, and that my job was to nourish him in other ways. It

was much harder on me than him.

I'll be thinking of you and Caden
