I,m new to the group. My granddaughter started the diet on Sept. 13. She is gfcf

so we are using oils, MCT, safflower, coconut oil. I have a meal planner but it

just has MCT not the other two. I 'm drawing a blank as to how to figure these 2

out to put in the planner. Is anyone using oils? I need to check the menues from

the hospital.

Thanks for any info.

Not all oils are created equal. If you look in Dr. Freeman's book, pg.

217, the oils are listed there. For the ones not listed, we use the USDA

information. For safflower oil, it has 884 calories so that is 98.2 gm

of fat per 100 grams. For coconut oil, it has 862 calories so that is

95.8 gm of fat per 100 grams. Both of these are fairly easy to digest as

far as I know. Certainly the safflower is. It is used in many commercial

mixtures. I think that the coconut is not as healthy in terms of

saturated, unsaturated, but I am not totally sure about that. What is

the value that you have for MCT? Is it 92.7?
