Guest guest
I am trying for about the 1000th time to get this weight off of me and become more fit. I can't just go on a " diet " and expect the weight to just fall off. I need to relearn portion control and how to eat normally for the rest of my life. To be honest, I'm joining a number of groups today because I feel the more support I can get, the better chances I'll have of sticking with a new way of eating, and making myself get into a regular exercise routine. Some of the groups I've been in before and they know the struggle I've had for the past couple of years. Right now I'm 178 lbs and my goal is to get down to around 140-145 lbs and then stay there. For my height and bone structure, plus my age, I think that would be a good healthy weight for me to be. I'm hoping you'll be as supportive of my struggles as I will be to support the rest of the group in their struggles. Thanks, Vicki
Guest guest
Welcome, Vicki! I sure don't think there's anything wrong with you joining a number of groups for support, though of course I'm biased towards thinking this one's the best, heehee. It sounds to me like 178 isn't your original starting weight, am I taking that right? Cause whoo, I still feel like 178 is *nothing*! Obviously, each person has a different number they see on the scale that makes them finally take action (and not just talk about taking action, which I tried but found wasn't so effective for weight loss, hehe) I think your goal is very reasonable, and you've already got the right mindset, as I see by you saying no dieting, but that you plan to learn eating habits for the rest of your life. I don't know if Yahoo allows gambling, but if so, I'd like to put my money on seeing you start losing in no time. Maybe I should be safe, and just say congratulations in advance, I have not one doubt regarding your success! =+) Catalina > I am trying for about the 1000th time to get this weight off of me > and become more fit. Guest guest
Hi Vicki. I want to give you a few encouraging words here and some inspiration. I was 175 on Sept 1st of this year. I now weigh just a little over three months later 148. Imagine three months from now. That's what late march..early April..just in time for summer you can be at your goal weight. I know in the begining three months seems like a long time but after you get past that first month and you really start to feel better it gets so much easier. I am glad you rejoined us and hope to hear about your awsome progress I know your going to make it!! Rhonda > I am trying for about the 1000th time to get this weight off of me > and become more fit. Guest guest
Welcome, Vicki! Glad to have you join us. Portion control is hard for me as well, especially lately it seems. Sounds like you have the basics down. Pat > I am trying for about the 1000th time to get this weight off of me > and become more fit. Guest guest
Vicki... I think the most support you have is a benefit, however, too much may cause some confusion... just speaking of my experience. When I first got the Internet I joined so many groups that it became so overwhelming for me, so I had to narrow my search and I found this group along with one other. I am glad that there are so many people hear who relate, and who will support one another... with no negativity... I hope that the support you gain from the group will forever help you in your journey.
