Guest guest
, If she is staying the same weightwise then she will be growing taller and will slim down as she does. Right? From a grandma, not a doctor. Hallie Weight problem is not going away.... STILL!!!! Help needed! Help needed!! I don't have my notebook with me, but I guess it has been four weeks since I discovered 's gain of four pounds in less than six weeks. She has been taken down from 1200 calories to 1000... first I took her down 100, then another 50 a few days later at the dietitians recommendation, then another 100 a week ago. Every week now we go and weigh in and she hasn't lost a thing! Not a thing! Should I continue to decrease calories? Obviously the cut has not done what it needs to. She looks too heavy, and the weight gain was so fast. She was chubby pre-keto and I had thought she would lose some of it. Not so. Now she looks terrible. is on a 3:1 ratio, 1000 calories. Any other ideas, other than reducing calories. She is not real active. Never has been. Sat up late, crawled late, walked late, and just is not overly active. Poor . I feel just awful that I let it happen. I was so involved with weighing food, I didn't notice her weight! Thanks ahead of time for input... .. Guest guest
Dear Hallie is short - about 5th percentile for her age. She is Vietnamese. Her height growth is never much during a year. It could take a long long time for her to catch up to this weight! Thanks, . Guest guest
. I can't see anything wrong with cutting another 50 to 100 calories. You are checking weight religiously now, so no problem, especially on a 3:1 ratio. Watch what happens to the ketones and seizures. Guest guest
The last time calories were cut, ketones went up. This diet really is something. Need to do something. Guest guest
, I've just read the previous posts. This is not surprising as is probably now burning body fat to meet her extra calorie needs and hence producing increased ketones. Sounds like calories are just about right. It could take a few weeks to see a difference in her weight though. Jill 03:02 AM 3/09/2004, you wrote: >The last time calories were cut, ketones went up. This diet really is >something. Guest guest
I guess we will sit tight and watch. Maybe when she gets back to where she was, or even a bit less (she was chubby, now is fat) she can have a few more calories. Funny. When I started the diet I was given a notebook of info and menus, exchange lists and that was it. I thought it was just a diet. There is so much more to the whole of it. What would I do without folks like you and those on this list! Many thanks for the input and support. . Jill jill@...> wrote: , I've just read the previous posts.
