Thanks you for your concern and thoughts about my

little Alice. She had a fall this morning, quite like

a drop one, so we went in to see her neuro. Thank

goodness, her blood work is normal--I don't know what

they checked. Her throat is kind of red, so may be a

throat infection, which explained why she refused food

and water, I hope. And for the fall, we will just

keep an close eye on her. The good thing was after

the strggling for getting blood work and seeing her

neuro, Alice got very exhausted. After a long nap,

she started to eat and drink again. It may just be

some hospital magic. Alice usually gets well after

seeing her docter, having a good cry. I am so

relieved, and hope the trend will continue to be good.

She is on 4.1:1 ratio, 875cal. We will reduce it to

4:1 to lower the ketosis. And if she drinks well, I

am sure her stick will not look that terrible dark.

Thanks,

Good news that she is, again, eating and feeling better. Yes, fluids help a

whole lot!

With a 4:1 ratio, red throat and refusing food and water, it sounds like

it could be reflux, very common on the diet. It should be treated as it

can be very painful and cause a lot of unnecessary misery. You don't

have to use medications, but treat by other means.
