Seizures caused by environment

Hey All --- I just met a lady today who's son & husband just started

having seizures last year. And then....to beat it all..... they just

found out that a neighbor (adult man) also started having seizures

recently. Oh.... and her daughter has started seeing flashing lights &

no one can explain it. The local health department has been involved,

but their epidemiologist says he cannot find a link. My question is

this...... does anyone know of environmental elements which can cause

seizures? Thankfully, medication is controlling the seizures for her

husband and son, but this mom is very frustrated. And I don't blame her!

Any thoughts???
