Guest guest
Carolyn Sorry to hear it's not going well. have you been using the diet for a long = time or are you just starting? Guest guest
Dominic, It's really a deal to do the diet here in France, they stop it immediately because they don't have any result....I've check their calculated menus they gave me for Nath it was about 1.1 ratio, so I'm not surprised it didn't work(they affirmed me it was a 5.1 ratio !!!!) The first start was the biginning of July and now I recalculated everything better and it was 3 weeks ago we try the best... I put some mtc oil because Nath is too constipated, so I put 4g per meal mtc oil and once I put 7g to try and since he's bad,Iput away mtc oil but he's still bad... aël hasn't got anymore topamax or clonezepam, he's only get trileptal at night , we put it 3 weeks ago and it seemed to work a little so I keep it. He hasn't got gastro or other infantile disease but he's really exhausted and now I'm sure he's deshydrated, he's got dry lips, rings under his eyes, tired, doesn't move or smile or babble...He's 6 but doens't do anything he's very disabed... His weight doesn't change maybe he lost a bit... I don't know about his height he's very tall for his age, he's 122 cm for 6 years old. Thank you Carolyn,aël's mum Re: level 3.1 and still vomits?! Guest guest
Carolyn I was going to ask about constipation. I think the hydration needs sorting = urgently today and perhaps the constipation next. It's very hard to be doing this diet alone as there are some dangers....we'= re still not on top of things with our daughter, running into pitfalls left right and centre bu= t our medical team are supporting us and learning with us. Is there anywhere in France that might be able to support a little more? I = believe there is a s Hopkins trained doctor in Germany...might that be an option? Back to hydration though that sounds the priority particularly if he's not = passing much urine? Guest guest
Carolyn Increasing magnesium would probably be a better choice for the constipation issue than using MCT oil. The MCT might have been causing the vommiting, did it get any better when you took it away? , 's mom caronath wrote: > Dominic, > > It's really a deal to do the diet here in France, they stop it > immediately because they don't have any result....I've check their > calculated menus they gave me for Nath it was about 1.1 ratio, so I'm > not surprised it didn't work(they affirmed me it was a 5.1 ratio !!!!) > > The first start was the biginning of July and now I recalculated > everything better and it was 3 weeks ago we try the best... > I put some mtc oil because Nath is too constipated, so I put 4g per > meal mtc oil and once I put 7g to try and since he's bad,Iput away mtc > oil but he's still bad... > aël hasn't got anymore topamax or clonezepam, he's only get > trileptal at night , we put it 3 weeks ago and it seemed to work a > little so I keep it. > He hasn't got gastro or other infantile disease but he's really > exhausted and now I'm sure he's deshydrated, he's got dry lips, rings > under his eyes, tired, doesn't move or smile or babble...He's 6 but > doens't do anything he's very disabed... > His weight doesn't change maybe he lost a bit... > I don't know about his height he's very tall for his age, he's 122 > cm for 6 years old. > > Thank you > > Carolyn,aël's mum > Re: level 3.1 and still vomits?! > > > Carolyn > > Sorry to hear it's not going well. have you been using the diet > for a long = > time or are you > just starting? > > Our daughter didn't take to the MCT version of the diet at all as > the oil m= > ade her very > sickly and we hadn't worked out many ways of disguising it > well....but this= > was associated > with high ketones. Guest guest
, How much magnesium I can give to aël ? He's 6 and his weight is 19 kg. He's a bit better today, I tried to give him 4 meals instead of 3 and I lowered the ratio to 3.5.1 Carolyn Re: level 3.1 and still vomits?! Guest guest
Carolyn, ael might need an i.v. to give him more fluid as it is dangerous to be so dehydrated. Guest guest
How much calcium are you giving him? He should be getting at least half as much magnesium as he gets calcium or in other words, he will get twice as much calcium as he does magnesium. Thats a starting point, then you can go up from there if you have to. Some kids needs to take the same amount of magnesium as they do calcium. You can't really go too high on the magnesium, if you do, you will get diahrea and know to back off caronath wrote: > , > > How much magnesium I can give to aël ?
