Guest guest
Hi - Tom really wanted camoflage colors (I think it was green, black and maybe gray) and they came back looking like something the cat threw up - luckily they didn't fit! LOL So no more camo for Tom. Sam's often had red and blue (for the Redsox) and t hose have been cool! Kearns wrote: > We're going for an earmold impression tomorrow. Guest guest
We had some difficulty with trying to swirl glow in the dark colors, so it might be best to stick with one glow in the dark color. We had the earmolds remade without glow colors and they were fine. Also, sometimes red turns out more like pink. We make sure to specify dark red or maroon when we want red. I have my kids play around with color combinations on paper with colored pencils. It saved us from a choice that would've looked like Mardi Gras for a year. > We're going for an earmold impression tomorrow. Guest guest
-----The best ones we had were pink, purple and white, but that is pretty girly. We tried for red, white and blue after 9/11 but they were more aqua, white and pink, which was ok for Maggie but a boy probably wouldn't have been willing to wear them! Her school colors are red and black and we always had to talk her out of those or a swirl of red and black.

They don't glow red, which is what we had thought they would look like, but they really look cool in the dark. His friends all want him to go into a closet when we go to play at their houses so they can see his mold. Cool. And the red is a nice shade of red. Not translucent, like his orange ones were. His also had blue and a strange shade of orangey, pink. (They didn't last long, fortunately.)
Guest guest
We've mostly had the glitter ones (purple w/ purple glitter, pink w/silver glitter). My favorite glitter ones were clear molds with red star glitter. We currently have red/white/blue ones. They look great. She has the type of mold that looks like a funny shaped doughnut, so I wasn't so sure how they would look, but we are please with them. I'm wondering if I can talk her into the glow in the dark ones next time, they seem like fun. Debbie Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not. It saved us from a choice that would've looked like Mardi Gras for a year. And for us, that same coloring technique created mud instead of flames. I don't recommend red-black-yellow. The yellow was far too weak as an actual color, the red mixed with the black, which wouldn't have been a real issue if the yellow hadn't been a dull color and also mixed with both the red and black, creating a lovely shade of mud. Ugliest molds you've ever seen. The word " mold " had dual meaning when talking about those ugly things. Luckily he was in the midst of a growth spurt so he had them for about 6 weeks. Ugly! Red and white swirls can look good, but can also turn into a pinkish swirl if the red isn't strong enough. We had that once as well. Our most successful swirlings have been blue and white, as well as the all time fave, red-white-blue. For plain colors there was also green at one point, but he really didn't like it, so we went back to re-white-blue. I think that was his only solid color except once when they goofed and sent clear ones. He seems to try something new, then go back to red-white-blue each time. I always remind the audi to write on the order that the red needs to be strong, not pink. We've never had to return molds because of the red -- well, the one red-white swirl that looked pink instead of like a peppermint (it was Christmas). Luckily, on that set they mis-drilled the holes and the molds split apart after one day of wearing, so we changed it back to the red-white-blue when they were remade. At one point he was going to try green and yellow swirl, but backed out at the last minute. we may end up with glow-in-the-dark next time. He needs to get new molds when he gets back from summer camp. If Ian weren't a boy, there'd be more experimentation with swirlings. And he always thought the glitter looked really cool, but couldn't find a way to use it without the aids looking girly. Best -- Jill
Guest guest
Eden picked out purple BTE's with neon pink molds at the age of five, she has since has pink and green, pink and purple and once had pink, purple and white ear molds made. She goes in tomorrow for a fitting for new molds and frankly I'm a little concerned about which colors she'll choose. She always chooses her colors, since they are an everyday accessory, so the only advice that I give her is to make sure that the molds won't clash too badly with her usual color choices in clothing. Since she is bald, the aids are very visible and she LOVES to show them off. She makes having cancer and hearing loss fun on a daily basis. Thank God for her attitude and personality!
