Nan,

Well it depends on where in Alaska that you are. :-) Where Pat is,

about 300 mi North of me they have longer days in the summer and

shorter days in the winter. Where I am, it really isn't that bad. At

our shortest days it is light by about 8:30 and dark by about 5:00. I

don't think that is much different then down there. It doesn't bother

me but I have definitely seen it effect Mike and Niki. Mike as I have

mentioned has crohn's and chronic fatigue syndrome and Niki has

attention deficit disorder and they both definitely get worse during

the shorter days. Jen posted a thing awhile back about winter weight

gain and there is some basis to it but there is where knowledge is

power. There are things to do. Exercise helps with the depression and

lack of energy, moods and weight so you are doing the right thing.
