Guest guest
Hi there. Just saw your post. Hannah was 5.5 yrs. old when she started the diet. She was our picky eater and did not like the mayo, butter, cream ch, sour cream, etc. I made her a " stirring " cocoa! She drank this at every meal. This was the only way she would get all her fats in at each meal. 1/3 cups heavy whipping cream; 2/3 cup water; 1 teasp. unsweetened cocoa; 1/2 teasp. imitation vanilla and splenda to taste. Cook in micro till warm. Then we would add her measured amount of canola oil and she would stir this as she drank it down to keep the oil mixed in. We were fortunate that Hannah could tolerate many changes to the diet and still remain in large ketosis. She had Atonic seizures only but none of the meds we tried stopped them. She remained on the diet 2.5 yrs. and is now seizure free and med free. Been off for a year now!!!! It is difficult in the beginning but after a few months you will get into a routine and it will get easier. Surf and find many recipes and see if you can convert them to work for her ratio. I let Hannah choose what she wanted for breakfast and lunch. She could have whatever she wanted. Breakfast didn't have to be breakfast food. But at dinner, I would try to make her dinner a part of what we were having. Let me know if I can be of any help Gail
