Guest guest
Kathy, I did a google search on the ADD diet and found a list of foods that kids with ADD are sensitive to. Since we do not give our daughter anything with additives and coloring we immediately focused on foods that were high and extreme high salicylates. We quit giving those (macadamia nuts, almond nuts, pork, broccoli, etc.) and she improved within 24 hours. There is a book out on how to do the ADD diet. I do not remember the Title. But, if you do a google search for " ADD diet " the book should be listed. When I am in the U.S. this December I want to buy it. One of the articles on the internet listed low, medium, high, extreme high salicylates foods. I printed the lists and have used them as a guide on what I can give a lot of and what I should limit. For example, I dropped the almonds and macadamia nuts and we are now giving pecans which are low salicylates. Broccoli is high but cauliflower is low. Foods that are high we give small amounts. Pork is a high salicylate so we have eliminated it completely and give beef, fish, and chicken. If I get some time today I'll try to do some research and find the name of the book and the article that had the list of foods. If I remember right the list was posted with a company selling products. Rhodna Rhonda-- Can you explain more about the ADD diet or is there a website?? The silliness/impulsiveness is what we deal with almost daily. Kathy/WI >When we tailored the diet to the ADD diet all immediately improved.
